Customs Clearance

The customs clearance is done through the termination of the customs procedures which lead to the customs clearance of the goods from the Egyptian Customs Authority. This is the last import step for the arrival of the product to you

Documents that must be returned with the importer

1 – Bill of Landing / Air Bill 

It is a contract of carriage between the exporter and the carrier, indicating the port of shipment, the port of arrival, the means of transport, the freight and how it is paid.

The bill of lading is a confirmation by the carrier to receive the goods in the ship’s hulls, which is also a holding contract for the exporter to which the policy describes the goods and the sending party.

2 – Commercial Invoice

3 – Certificate of Origin  

Is a certificate issued by the Chamber of Commerce in the country of origin showing the place of manufacture or production of the goods to be exported, and is considered necessary to identify the nationality of the goods in order to estimate the rates of fees to be charged or preferential transactions to be granted. And are used to control the prevention of leakage of goods economically boycotted or prohibited.

In case of importation from the Arab countries, the certificate of origin shall be in accordance with the Agreement on Facilitation and Development of Trade Exchange between the Arab States in order to benefit from the customs exemptions granted.

The Rules of Origin of the Arab States provide that the product is considered to be a national product of the exporting State if the following condition is satisfied: “The product has been grown, produced or manufactured entirely,

That country and that the value of the raw materials (produced in that country) and the direct costs of production should not be less than 40% oft value of the exported goods.

4 – Packing List 

A document issued by the exporter, showing the contents of each package, its number, the weight of the shipment, the name of the importer, the .commercial invoice number, and describing the products and their specifications accurately

5 – Health Certificate 

This certificate shows analytical data for the required goods and what materials are included in their manufacture and indicates that the product is valid

For human or animal consumption (in some types of goods).

6 – If the goods are received in wooden boxes or on wooden drums 

The Universal Seal of Criterion 15/ which indicates that these substances have been treated either thermally or with methyl bromide

In case of non-receipt of this seal, the wood packing materials shall be sterilized in the port under the supervision of the prevention or quarantine department.
